Mr. Spada is a commercial litigation attorney who joined the firm in 2013.  His practice focuses on commercial and construction law, commercial litigation, and advising clients on all facets of their transactional and corporate matters. Mr. Spada has successfully negotiated and settled multi-million dollar complex construction disputes and has successfully litigated dozens of cases resulting in rulings in his clients’ favor.  His experience, innovative thinking, and common-sense approach to business and construction related disputes enables him to identify and create solutions that exceed his clients’ expectations and bottom line.

Mr. Spada represents a broad range of clients throughout the five boroughs of New York City as well as  Long Island, Westchester and the Hudson Valley, including owners, contractors, developers, subcontractors, construction managers, design professionals, sureties, corporate officers and shareholders.   He has extensive experience representing clients involved in public and private construction including commercial, private and public as well as affordable and supportive housing projects.  Mr. Spada provides full construction services to his clients from project formation through completion, including, contract drafting and negotiation, scope of work disputes, payment disputes, change order disputes, construction defects, delay claims, mechanic’s liens, bond claims, wrongful termination, OSHA violations, and insurance claims.

Mr. Spada drafts and reviews hundreds of construction contracts each year.  His extensive expertise in contract drafting as well as litigating construction disputes enables him to draft or modify contracts to meet his clients’ needs and he always ensures his clients are fully protected for all possibilities during a project.   As a sophisticated negotiator, Mr. Spada works towards mitigating or eliminating client exposure in order to avoid resorting to litigation, or in the event litigation is unavoidable, put the client in a favorable position to win.
